Help:Graphics
From Thinkmath
To include a picture:
- Create the picture with any suitable piece of software (Mathematica, Maple, MatLab, Geometer's Sketchpad, Logo, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Freehand, etc.) and save it as a .png, .jpg, or .tif file. You may use photographs you take, scanned student work, material from the Web, or any other graphics source, as long as you have legal permission to do so. (No copyrighted material, photographs of people, or other protected copy without permission.)
- Press "Upload file" (in the toolbox you see on the left of this page)
- Follow its directions.
- The minimal instruction is [[Image:fn.png]], in which fn.png is whatever filename and extension you used when you uploaded the file.
- Additional instructions can be included to place the figure to the right or left of text, and to establish its size. For example, the instruction
[[Image:NLH.png|right|thumb|100px|]]
says to use the graphic file NLH.png, place it to the right of the text that immediately follows the instruction (blocking that text appropriately), and letting it take up a 100 pixel wide space. It created the effect you see here.
